Morane-Saulnier MS.406 1:72 from Hobby Boss - an injection-molded plastic kit of the principal French fighter of the beginning of the Second World War in an easy-build configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French fighter Morane-Saulnier MS.406 in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model belongs to the easy assembly line with a lower part count, an engraved surface, a metal propeller shaft, one-piece glazing and decals. Thanks to its simplicity it suits beginning modelers and a quick build too.
The MS.406 was the most widespread French fighter at the beginning of the Second World War and the first modern French all-metal monoplane with an enclosed cockpit and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a V12 Hispano-Suiza with an engine-mounted cannon firing through the propeller hub. Compared with the German fighters of the day, however, it was weaker in performance and more poorly armed, so during the Battle of France in 1940 it suffered appreciable losses. Even so it formed the backbone of the French Air Force fighter arm of that period.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Although it is an easy-build kit, the cockpit will be improved by a wash and by careful seating of the one-piece canopy. Mask the glazing for clean frames. Spray the French three-color camouflage with an airbrush over primer in thin coats and enliven it with a subtle panel wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
