An injection-molded plastic kit of the German three-ton tanker (refueling) truck in 1:72 scale from MAC. It is a short-run model supplemented with photo-etched parts, which represents Wehrmacht rear-area equipment on the Opel Blitz chassis.
The real subject is a German three-ton truck adapted as a tanker for replenishing fuel, built on the chassis of the ubiquitous Opel Blitz. This type of truck was one of the backbones of German rear-area logistics and served on every battlefield of the Second World War to supply the equipment with fuel. The body with a tank in place of the ordinary cargo bed is characteristic.
A short-run molding calls for more careful preparation of the parts and cleaning up of the mating surfaces, so the model is better suited to more experienced modelers. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting; paint a small model in 1:72 with an airbrush in thin coats and finish by bringing it to life with fine weathering and dust pigments.
