Eduard: masks 1:72 for the Grumman TBF-1C Avenger (Hobby Boss)

An Eduard masking set in 1:72 scale intended for the plastic model of the Grumman TBF-1C Avenger from Hobby Boss. Note that it is not an airplane model: it is a modeling accessory and the kit is not included in the package. The masks are machine-cut from fine masking tape, they copy the shapes of the parts of that particular kit and they leave no adhesive residue once peeled off. They save you the tedious cutting of tape with a scalpel and above all the risk of scratching the glazing while you do it.

Use

• Stick the masks down according to the diagram supplied; on the glazing start from the individual frames.
• Cover the remaining open areas with an offcut of tape or with a liquid mask, so that no paint aerosol gets inside.
• Before spraying, press the edges of the masks down firmly with a toothpick or a blunt point; that stops the paint from creeping under.
• Spray several thin coats; one thick coat builds a ridge at the edge of the mask that tears when it is peeled off.
• Peel the mask off soon after the paint has dried, pulling it back over itself at a sharp angle.
