About product

Wheels I.A.R. 80/81C - block pattern (from 1942, 1:72, IBG)

An accessory 3D printed resin set, not a kit. It holds the main wheels with the block tread pattern used on I.A.R. 80/81C machines from 1942. The tread as well as the hub are printed cleanly, without the mold seam typical of plastic.

The real subject

The I.A.R. 80/81C were Romanian fighter machines of domestic design from the Second World War. The different types of tire pattern make it possible to date and tell apart a particular machine exactly.

Use and tips

  • Separate the wheels from the print supports and wash the mold release agent off them.
  • Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • Set the rubber and the hubs apart in color and pick them out with pigments.
  • Wear respiratory protection while sanding.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of the I.A.R. 80/81C in 1:72 with the block pattern.
  • Anyone interested in a period-correct tire pattern.
  • Modelers who appreciate wheels without mold seams.

The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the paints, the glue and the base model are not included in the package.
