The IDF Centurion Shot Kal Alef 1973 1:72 is a plastic kit of the Israeli modification of the Centurion tank from the time of the Yom Kippur War, completed by photo-etched parts and vinyl tracks.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli Shot Kal tank in the Alef version in 1:72 scale. Besides the plastic parts the package holds photo-etched parts, vinyl tracks, decals and building instructions. The model captures the machine in its 1973 guise.
The Shot Kal was the Israeli modification of the British Centurion tank. Israel rearmed and updated the original machines: they received a 105 mm gun, a new American diesel engine with a revised rear hull and improved fire control. In this form they played a key role in the defensive battles of the Yom Kippur War in 1973.
First assemble and clean up the running gear and the hull, and only then close the turret up. Bend the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge and fit the vinyl tracks once the running gear is painted. As a short-run product the kit calls for more patient cleaning up of the parts. Dust pigments and dark washes into the recesses suit the weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
