A kit in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains four identical guns cast in hard plastic. The crew is not part of the set, and the figures have to be added from the same maker's artillery sets. The parts are supplied unpainted and have to be assembled, so from one box you can build a whole battery.
The 75 millimeter gun of Deport design was an Italian field gun of the First World War. What made it interesting was the way the barrel was mounted: the recoil ran in two inclined cylinders, which let the gun fire even at a high elevation without the carriage lifting. It was exactly this quality that proved useful in the Alpine war, where fire was directed at steep slopes. The weapon was also built under French license.
First dry-fit the parts, above all the seating of the barrel in the cradle and the spread of the carriage. Hard plastic is bonded with ordinary solvent cement for plastic models, unlike the soft plastic figures from the same maker. Paint the gun in a muted gray-green and add dust on the wheels. A position with crates of ammunition and spent cartridge cases gives a scene both scale and a story.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
