An injection-molded plastic kit of a heavy truck of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) in the version with enforced cab armor in 1:72 scale from the Japanese maker Aoshima. The package holds six figures — a driver, a commander and four soldiers — so the model is completed with a crew right away and a small scene can be built. The parts tend to be molded in dark green together with clear parts and decals.
This is a Japanese 3.5-ton heavy truck, used by the Ground Self-Defense Force as a universal carrier of cargo and personnel. The version with enforced cab armor came about for deployment in a riskier environment, where the crew needed better protection. The add-on armor panels on the cab are characteristic of this modification.
First build the chassis and the cab, and seat the add-on armor panels according to the instructions. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Paint the figures separately, so that the uniforms and the faces stand out. We recommend a primer and an airbrush; for a faithful look, washes and pigments for dust and mud on the chassis and the wheels suit well. Transfer the decals onto a smooth varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
