The Kawasaki Ki-100-I High Back 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese fighter from the end of the Second World War, made by RS Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-100 fighter in the high-back version with the original canopy. The model comes from the Czech manufacturer RS Models and is supplemented with clear cockpit parts and small resin parts for the engine and the exhausts. The set includes a decal sheet with several marking options.
The Ki-100 came about by fitting the airframe of the Ki-61 Hien fighter with the Mitsubishi Ha-112-II radial engine of around 1500 hp. This improvised substitution proved exceptionally successful: the aircraft was agile, reliable and popular with its pilots, and it ranked among the best Japanese fighters of the closing stage of the war. The high-back version was the first production form of the type.
This is a short-run kit, so expect careful cleanup of the parts and a dry fit before gluing. Glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic; wash the resin engine parts, cut them from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend a primer under the paint, an airbrush and a final finish with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
