An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet heavy tank in 1:72 scale from the maker PST. The smaller scale makes the model an space-saving choice for a display case or a diorama. The package contains plastic parts and decals. The detail is decent for the scale; expect a classic build from sprues and cleaning up of the parts.
The KV-85 was a Soviet heavy tank created by fitting a new turret with a powerful 85 mm gun onto the proven chassis of the KV series. The aim of this modification was to increase firepower against the ever more heavily armored German tanks in the later part of the war. It was thus a stopgap that combined the tough hull of the KV heavy tank with a gun that later appeared on the types that followed.
Finish the running gear and the tracks first, then assemble the hull and the turret. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and sand down any small flash and seams. Spray the base with primer, the main color with an airbrush, and bring the surface to life with washes and dry pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
