An injection-molded plastic kit of the light piston aircraft Piper L-18C Super Cub in its military configuration, in 1:72 scale. The kit is made by the Czech brand Kovozavody Prostejov (KP). The Military version focuses on aircraft in armed-forces service, where the type served mainly as an observation, liaison and training aircraft. The model is meant to be assembled and painted; check the package contents and the number of marking options against the manufacturer's product sheet and instructions.
The L-18C was the military designation of the light aircraft Piper Super Cub (PA-18 series). It was a strut-braced high-wing aircraft of classic design, with tandem seating and a piston engine. Thanks to its low landing speed and ability to operate from short, unpaved strips, it suited observation, courier and liaison flights, pilot training and glider towing. In its military role, it was used from the 1950s to the 1970s by a number of European air forces and other operators.
As with short-run kits, we recommend carefully cleaning up mold flash and sprue marks and dry-fitting the parts before gluing. Use thin liquid cement for plastic, and fill and sand seams as needed. On strut-braced high-wing aircraft, pay close attention to fitting the struts and landing gear precisely. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush suits even coverage well. Glue the cockpit glazing with a cement that does not fog clear parts, and mask the cockpit frame with tape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
