This detailed kit in 1:72 scale captures the modern American M1278 JLTV light tactical vehicle. The model from Fore Art combines injection-molded plastic parts with 3D-printed items (the tires among them) and photo-etched parts, which gives it an exceptional level of detail for a small scale. The set contains a larger number of parts and offers a choice of several versions of the remotely operated weapon station, so even in a small scale it ranks among models for advanced builders.
The JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) is a modern armored tactical vehicle of the US Army that is gradually replacing the older HMMWV. The M1278 version is based on the general-purpose configuration and carries a remotely operated weapon station. The vehicle combines armor protection, off-road mobility and modular equipment for present-day service.
The 3D-printed and photo-etched parts are small and fragile, so work with a sharp knife, tweezers and cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. A primer coat is worth applying, an airbrush gives even coverage and a wash and dry brushing bring the detail out gently. Add the small photo-etched items at the very end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
