1:72 Mark 82 bombs (4 pieces) is a resin set of four aerial bombs from Reskit in 1:72 scale. An accessory of underwing armament for a model of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
Four Mark 82 bombs in the basic form with a low-drag tail, 1:72 scale. The set is an accessory for a model of an aircraft, not a kit. It will replace the bombs from the box, which tend to be split into halves, so that after gluing a seam remains across the whole cylindrical body. In 1:72 this seam is, in proportion to the size of the part, even more conspicuous than in larger scales, and removing it almost always means that you lose the bands and facets on the surface. A one-piece casting removes the problem altogether.
The Mark 82 is the smallest bomb of the American series, with a nominal weight of around five hundred pounds. The basic form with a low-drag cone is used when releasing from a greater altitude, where the aircraft does not need to slow the bomb down. It is such a widespread store that it makes up the basic armament of a large part of tactical aircraft models and tends to be the starting body for guided sets as well.
With four identical parts it pays to even the surface underneath out. After washing the release agent off and cleaning up wet, stick all the bombs onto sticks and spray them all at once with a thin layer of primer. That gets you the same shade and the same surface texture on every piece, which shows more on a repeated part than one would expect. The primer will at the same time reveal places not sanded enough before you flood them with paint. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for plastic does not work on resin.
The set is an accessory, not a kit. It is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the basic model are not included in the package.
