AZ model 1:72 Martlet Mk.I is a plastic kit of the Grumman carrier fighter in the service of the Royal Navy in the early Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer AZ model. The subject is the Grumman Martlet Mk.I, that is the British designation of an early version of the American carrier fighter of the Wildcat family. The set holds clear parts for the canopy and decals with several marking options of naval service.
The Martlet Mk.I was an early export version of the Grumman fighter with fixed, non-folding wings, which British naval aviation took over at the start of the Second World War. The sturdy all-metal machine with a radial engine proved itself protecting convoys and over the sea, where it was among the first successful carrier fighters of the Fleet Air Arm.
Clean the small parts up carefully and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Glue the clear canopy parts with a cement intended for the purpose, so that they do not go milky. Lay on a primer before painting, spray the naval camouflage with an airbrush and unify the surfaces with a fine filter and a wash. Reading up on the period finish of a particular unit helps.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
