An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Me 410 A-1 Hornisse (hornet) in 1:72 scale from the Italeri brand. The set is supplied unassembled, with a decal sheet for several marking options.
The Me 410 Hornisse was a German twin-engine heavy fighter and fast bomber which followed on in development from the earlier Me 210. It was powered by two strong Daimler-Benz engines and carried heavy armament. A characteristic and unusual detail were the remotely controlled defensive gun barbettes on the sides of the fuselage, operated at a distance from the cockpit.
Glue with a thin cement for plastic; finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. On a twin-engine aircraft, pay attention to a clean fit of the engine nacelles and the wing leading edges. The canopy glazing is split, so take care over the joints and mask the part before spraying. We recommend a primer and an airbrush. Keep to a period German camouflage scheme and check the particular shades against the instructions. Pick out the panel lines with a wash, suggest exhaust staining and light dirt; apply the decals over a gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
