An injection-molded plastic kit of the German twin-engined heavy fighter Messerschmitt Bf 110 in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model belongs to the line with a simplified breakdown: the fuselage is solved as an upper and a lower assembly with an integrated wing, and the tail surfaces and the engine nacelles join up with a minimum of parts. The package contains engraved surface lines, a simple two-seat cockpit, a one-piece glazed cockpit canopy, the landing gear and one-piece three-blade propellers with separate spinners.
The Bf 110 was conceived as a long-range heavy fighter (Zerstörer) with two V engines, a pair of vertical tail surfaces and a crew of a pilot and a rear gunner. In the role of a day escort fighter it ran into the limits of its abilities, but it proved itself as a fighter-bomber and later as a night fighter. Its heavy forward armament of machine guns and cannons made it a dangerous opponent of bomber formations.
Secure the joints with thin cement for plastic. Mask the extensive cockpit glazing carefully before painting, because it determines the look of the whole model. A filler primer will even out the surface and pick out the engraving. An airbrush is suitable for the German camouflages with a light underside and a broken-up green above.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
