An injection-molded plastic kit of the American single-seat Bell P-39N Airacobra fighter aircraft in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand Arma Hobby. It is a modern, finely worked tooling with nice surface detail, clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet with several marking variants (usually including a Soviet, a French and an American machine). The model will please with its quality as well as its interesting schemes.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an unconventionally laid out American fighter of the Second World War with the engine mounted in the middle of the fuselage behind the pilot and with nosewheel landing gear. The layout freed the nose for heavy armament including a cannon firing through the propeller hub. The P-39N version was one of the higher-performing forms. The type became notably famous above all with the Soviet Air Force, where it arrived as part of wartime deliveries, and it proved itself in air combat at low and medium altitudes.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and proceed patiently with the small parts. Finish the detailed cockpit before you close the fuselage up, and mask the glazing. Pay attention to the nosewheel landing gear and to clean joints. Spray the camouflage with an airbrush after the base coat (primer) according to the scheme you have chosen; the Soviet, American and French machines differ markedly. Apply the decals onto gloss varnish and fine-tune the weathering by letting a wash run gently into the engraved lines.
