An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy tank Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B, known as the Königstiger, in 1:72 scale. In small scales Flyhawk has long kept to a very fine rendering of the surface, so a model of this size offers detail that used to be the privilege of larger scales.
The Königstiger was the heaviest German production tank. It combined exceptionally thick frontal armor with sloped surfaces and a gun of 88 mm caliber with a barrel 71 calibers long, which at ordinary combat ranges punched through practically everything that stood against it. The price was an enormous weight, a high fuel consumption and an unreliable drivetrain; a large part of the losses arose outside combat.
The parts are small, so separate them with nippers only just before gluing and work over a tray with a raised edge. Paint the running gear before you close the sides of the hull up. Spray the late multicolor camouflage with an airbrush with soft transitions and pick the edges of the armor out with a lighter tone. Work dust pigments into the lower part of the hull and into the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
