Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Ferdinand heavy tank destroyer in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The model is designed as snap-fit, so a large part of the parts can be joined without glue, and the box also holds decals for several machines. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Ferdinand was built on the chassis of the Porsche Tiger tank prototype and was armed with the long 8.8 cm PaK 43/2 L71 gun, one of the most effective anti-tank guns of its day. The vehicle had electric transmission and massive frontal armor. Its best-known use came in the summer of 1943 in the Battle of Kursk; the machines rebuilt later were designated Elefant.
Even with snap-fit joints we recommend adding a drop of thin cement for plastic for greater strength. The tracks are delicate, so separate and bend them carefully. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush is ideal. A base dark yellow with additional camouflage suits it well, and washes and pigments imitating mud and dust bring the running gear and the lower hull to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
