The Sd.Kfz.251 was the standard German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War. The 251/8 ambulance version, called the Krankenpanzerwagen, was used to move the wounded from the front line to the rear. The vehicle was powered by a Maybach six-cylinder engine and reached over 50 km/h even off road. The interior was arranged to carry several seated wounded or a smaller number of stretcher cases together with medical equipment.
In the smaller 1:72 scale the parts are tiny; cut them off carefully with a sharp knife and bond them with a thin plastic cement. Finish the running gear and the basic hull first, and only then add the details. After spraying primer and camouflage with an airbrush, pick out the panel lines with a thin wash and lay fine dust on the running gear with pigments. In this scale choose more restrained weathering so that the effects match the size of the model.
