Trumpeter 1:72 Sd.Kfz.9 Schwere Zugkraftwagen 18t (late version) is an injection-molded plastic kit of the largest German half-track tractor of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter represents the German Sd.Kfz.9 heavy half-track tractor of the FAMO type in the late version (type F3) in 1:72 scale. It is a richly broken-down kit with a new suspension mold created by slide-mold technology, full-length vinyl tracks and clear film for the glazing. The model has a high parts count and offers a great deal of detail.
The Sd.Kfz.9 was the largest half-track tractor that Germany used during the Second World War. FAMO developed it from the middle of the nineteen thirties and a strong Maybach engine powered it. The vehicle served above all to tow damaged tanks off the battlefield and to tow heavy large-caliber guns. Thanks to its power and its capacity it was a key element of German supply and engineering equipment.
Given the higher parts count, work through the instructions section by section and assemble the suspension and the running gear carefully. Fit the clear film for the glazing only after the cab is painted. German camouflage airbrushes well over a colored primer for plastic; you will tune the mud and dust effects on the suspension with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
