Aires 1:72 SEPECAT Jaguar A/E - exhaust nozzles is a resin set replacing the nozzles of both engines on a model of the French versions of the ground-attack aircraft. The target is the Jaguar kit from Hobby Boss. It is not a model of the airplane, but an accessory for its tail end.

A set of resin exhaust nozzles for a model of the SEPECAT Jaguar in versions A and E in 1:72 scale. It is made by the Czech firm Aires. The Jaguar is a twin-engine machine, so a pair of nozzles side by side has to be dealt with, and that is exactly where plastic runs into its limits: two adjoining tubes cannot be cast with a sufficiently thin wall without the part distorting. The set replaces the plastic parts from the Jaguar kit by Hobby Boss.
The Jaguar came about as a joint British and French program for an advanced trainer and tactical ground-attack aircraft. Version A is the French single-seat attack machine, version E the two-seat trainer variant of the same aircraft. Power comes from a pair of turbofan engines mounted close together in the rear of the fuselage, which gives the Jaguar its typical broad tail end with two circular outlets. The machine was designed for operations from imperfectly prepared surfaces and for low-level flight, and its sturdy landing gear matches that.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, not with nippers, and level the surface. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. In 1:72 scale the parts are small, so it pays to work with tweezers over a mat. Try both nozzles dry at the same time so that they stand out equally far and are on the same axis; asymmetry is noticed at once on a pair of adjoining outlets. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint them off the model: metallic shades inside, fine heat staining around the mouth and only at the very end the setting into the fuselage.
The set is supplied unpainted, as resin castings for altering a model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
