An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet KV-2 heavy tank in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the characteristic tall, boxy turret with the short 152 mm howitzer on the chassis of the KV heavy tank. It is a compact kit that also suits a quicker build and smaller display cases.
The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank of the early Second World War, created by fitting the KV-1 chassis with a massive turret carrying the short 152 mm M-10 howitzer meant for destroying fortifications. It went into action in the opening phase of the fighting on the Eastern Front in 1941. The tall turret and the heavy armor made it a conspicuous, if unwieldy, vehicle.
Finish and paint the running gear and the lower hull before you close the hull up. Glue the plastic with thin cement. For a Soviet look a uniform green is the one to use (the 4BO shade); create the patina, the dust and the mud on the running gear with washes and pigments at the end. Line the tall turret up carefully with the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
