Responsibility details are not available.
A large injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet supersonic bomber Tupolev Tu-22 (NATO reporting name Blinder) from Trumpeter, in 1:72 scale. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a large plastic kit to glue and spray, with finely engraved panel lines. Given the size of the real aircraft, this is a sizable model. Follow the included instructions and box markings for the exact package contents and available schemes.
The Tu-22 was the first Soviet supersonic bomber, entering service in the 1960s as the successor to the subsonic Tu-16. It was distinguished by a slender fuselage, a swept wing, and a pair of engines mounted at the root of the vertical tail. Besides its role as a fast bomber, it was also used for reconnaissance and maritime strike missions; it was operated by the Soviet Union as well as several allied states.
Finish and spray the cockpit and landing-gear bays before closing the long fuselage. Glue with liquid plastic cement, and carefully sand down the extensive seams. Natural-metal finishes look their best with a smooth surface and an airbrush; spray a gloss varnish under decals to prevent silvering, and unify the surface with a final coat of varnish. Plan for a sturdy build and enough display-case space.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
