A kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov (KP). This Spitfire Stars edition offers an injection-molded plastic model with a set of decals for several interesting operators. The package contains plastic parts in gray and clear plastic and color instructions. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
The Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most widespread and most successful versions of the legendary British fighter. It came about as an answer to the German machines of the middle phase of the war, and thanks to the powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 it offered markedly better performance at altitude. It served with a number of Allied air forces and, after the war, with further countries as well.
Glue with thin cement for plastic, dry-fit the parts before gluing and sand the joints lightly. Use a primer and apply the paint with an airbrush for a clean camouflage transition. Apply gloss varnish before the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and finish the build with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
