Injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the Mk.Vb version in its tropical form, in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model belongs to the Easy Assembly line with a reduced parts count, so it suits beginning modelers as well. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet and illustrated instructions.
The Spitfire Mk.V was the most heavily produced generation of this legendary fighter. The b version carried mixed armament of cannon and machine guns in the wing. You can tell the tropical form (Trop) by the prominent dust filter under the nose, which protected the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine from sand during deployment in the Mediterranean and in North Africa. It was in exactly these conditions that the Spitfire Mk.Vb Trop fought against the aircraft of the Axis.
Separate the parts from the sprues, clean them up and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Lay down a primer base and apply the paints with an airbrush; desert camouflage calls for sand and brown tones with a blue lower surface. The three-blade propeller can be left free to turn. Pick the engraved lines out with a thin wash, and a matte clear coat will even the surface out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
