This injection-molded plastic kit from Zvezda represents the Russian Sukhoi Su-33 carrier fighter (NATO code Flanker-D) in 1:72 scale. The model offers optionally folding wings and tailplanes, underwing missile armament and decals for two machines of the Russian Navy.
The Su-33 is a heavy twin-engine carrier fighter derived from the Su-27 family for operations from an aircraft carrier. Compared with the land-based version it received strengthened landing gear, an arrestor hook, folding wings and canards for better behavior at low speeds over the deck. It entered service at the end of the 1990s as one of the highest-performing carrier fighters of its time and to this day forms the basis of the carrier aviation of the Russian Navy. Its large airframe and prominent canards make it an impressive piece on the modeling bench.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and use a primer before painting. The folding wings allow the model to be built in the hangar position; do not glue the movable parts if you want to keep them working. An airbrush makes the fine blue transitions of the typical naval finish easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
