Beaching gear for the Supermarine S.4 (1:72, SBS Model)

This is a resin detail accessory, not a standalone model of an aircraft. The set holds the parts of the beaching gear, that is the wheeled trolley on which a racing floatplane was pulled out of the water and moved along the shore. The parts are made as fine castings and 3D printed elements that complete the model of the float and the fuselage of the S.4 in 1:72 scale.

What the trolley is for

The Supermarine S.4 had no wheeled landing gear, and on land it therefore moved only on a detachable trolley under the float. This accessory makes it possible to stand the aircraft on wheels and display it strikingly out of the water, either on its own or as part of a small scene with accompanying ground crew.

Assembly and painting tips

• First wash the mold release agent off the parts and cut off the casting blocks.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); resin will not join with ordinary cement for plastic.
• Use respiratory protection when sanding.
• Set the metal and the wooden parts of the trolley apart in color; it adds realism.
