This is a 3D-printed resin detail set from IBG models, not a kit. The set contains replacement exhausts of the Supermarine Spitfire in 1:72 scale made in the fishtail pattern – with the flat, flared mouths of the stacks that were used on a number of Spitfires.
It replaces the plastic exhausts from the box with more faithful resin parts with hollowed mouths and a fine shape, which in a small scale lifts the impression of the engine section considerably. 3D printing allows detail that is hard to injection-mold in plastic.
Separate the parts from the print supports, clean them and degrease them. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The exhausts come out well in shades of rust and burnt steel – a dark base, metallic shades and fine pigments work well. Fit them at the end of the build.
This is a detail set, not an aircraft model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
