The edition concentrates on machines delivered to the Soviet Union and carrying red stars. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the contents of the package and the number of painting schemes, follow the enclosed instructions.
The Spitfire Mk.V was one of the most widespread versions of the legendary British fighter of the Second World War. The Mk.Vb variant with the type b wing carried a mix of machine guns and 20 mm cannon and was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. A number of these machines were delivered to the Soviet Union under Allied aid, where they flew with red stars – and it is on these machines that the Red Stars edition concentrates.
Finish and paint the cockpit before joining the fuselage halves; mask the canopy glazing before spraying. Spray the base over a primer and use an airbrush for smooth transitions between the camouflage shades. On Soviet machines, pay attention to the right shade of the red stars and to discreet wear. Fit the landing gear, the propeller and the exhausts only at the end of the build so that the small parts do not get damaged.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
