An injection-molded plastic model of the Polish PZL TS-11 Iskra jet trainer in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand Arma Hobby. The Junior Set edition is a simplified version built around the plastic parts alone, without the photo-etch and masks found in the premium boxings. That makes it a welcoming kit with a quick build, suitable even for less experienced modelers, while it keeps the finely engraved surface and faithful airframe shapes. The box contains a decal sheet for one color scheme.
The TS-11 Iskra was the first jet aircraft designed and series-produced in post-war Poland. It served for decades as the basic and advanced trainer of the Polish Air Force and, in modified versions, for light attack and reconnaissance as well. It was powered by a home-built turbojet and its two-seat cockpit was arranged in tandem for pupil and instructor. The Iskra became a symbol of Polish military flying training and was used for many years by the national aerobatic team.
Glue the plastic parts with thin plastic cement, and fill and sand the fuselage seams where necessary. It pays to paint and shade the cockpit with its tandem seats before closing the fuselage; mask the canopy glazing and glue it so that the cement does not run. Lay down a primer before painting, spray the colors with an airbrush in thin coats and bring out the transitions between shades with a light wash.
