An injection-molded plastic kit of the Type B London double-decker bus operated by the London General Omnibus Company. The model in 1:72 scale comes from the Ukrainian maker Roden and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The assembled vehicle is about nine and a half centimeters long and catches the eye with its characteristic open upper deck and its high chassis on solid rubber tires.
The Type B buses became one of the symbols of Edwardian London. They were built from 1910, and over the following years nearly two and a half thousand of them were completed. The vehicle with its wooden body carried passengers on two decks through the streets of the metropolis. After the outbreak of the First World War some of these buses were requisitioned for the needs of the army and served to carry troops, which made them unexpected participants in events at the front.
Bond the small parts of the interior and the staircase with liquid cement for plastic, which will not run onto the visible surfaces. It is worth clearing the body of mold seam lines and spraying a base color before gluing. A faithful look is set off by matte shades completed with period advertising posters and destination boards, which gave these vehicles their typical character.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
