An injection-molded plastic kit of the American military truck of one-and-a-half-ton capacity with drive to both axles, in the version with a metal body, in 1:72 scale. The metal body differs from the wooden one in its sides and in the mounting of the tilt, so it is a version built in its own right, not merely a different decal sheet.
Trucks of this class formed the backbone of the supply of the Allied armies. They were simple, repairable in the field and built in enormous numbers. A large part of production went to the Soviet Union under Allied aid, where these vehicles carried ammunition, fuel and soldiers and became a common sight in period photographs of the Eastern Front. Drive to both axles meant that the vehicle got through where an ordinary road truck would have been stuck.
In 1:72 scale the build is small, so cut the parts off with nippers and sand the remains of the gates carefully. Paint the body and the cab separately and join them only after painting, or you will not reach into the corners. Trucks were the dirtiest equipment of all, so mud on the wheels and the running boards and dust on the tilt are in place. A load on the body gives the model a story straight away.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
