US T26E4 Super Pershing 1:72 from Trumpeter - an injection-molded plastic kit of the experimental American heavy tank with the lengthened 90 mm gun and add-on armor.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the experimental American T26E4 heavy tank, nicknamed Super Pershing, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model faithfully captures the characteristic lengthened 90 mm gun as well as the add-on armor plates on the front of the hull and the turret. The box holds injection-molded plastic on several sprues together with full-length one-piece flexible tracks and illustrated instructions; markings for two vehicles are included.
The T26E4 was created in answer to the need to face German heavy tanks. A more powerful long 90 mm T15E1 gun with a high muzzle velocity was fitted into a standard Pershing, and the crew welded improvised additional armor plates onto the front. The vehicle saw action only in small numbers at the close of the war in Germany in the spring of 1945 and became one of the most interesting attempts to boost the firepower of the Pershing.
Assemble and, if you wish, paint the running gear and the belly of the hull first, and only then close the hull. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Apply primer before painting and spray the olive green in thin coats with an airbrush. A dark wash will give depth to the engraved lines, and a final patina of dust pigments will create convincing mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
