This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand Amodel captures the single-seat Yakovlev Yak-55M aerobatic aircraft. The box holds plastic sprues, a clear canopy and a decal sheet. It is a simple short-run kit that suits a quicker build as well.
The Yak-55 is a Soviet single-seat aerobatic aircraft of the 1980s, designed for the most demanding maneuvers. The Yak-55M version was given a reworked wing and became a successful machine at the world aerobatic championships. Thanks to its excellent handling it was in its day among the best of the sporting aerobatic aircraft.
The control surfaces on the model are molded separately, which allows them to be deflected. Clean the short-run parts up with a file and test the fit. Mask the cabin glazing. Spray the striking sporting schemes on with an airbrush and lay the decals on gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
