Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-2A 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet pre-series fighter, one of the forerunners of the famous MiG-21.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the Soviet pre-series light fighter Ye-2A from the Ukrainian maker A and A Models. It is a short-run kit with clear parts, a photo-etched fret and a masking stencil added. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Ye-2A was one of the experimental machines of the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau that led to the creation of the legendary MiG-21. Unlike the later delta layout it had a swept wing. It first flew on 22 March 1956 and several further machines were then built for service trials. In the end the variant with the delta wing won out, yet the Ye-2A remains an interesting milestone in the development of Soviet jet fighters.
With a short-run kit count on cleaning the parts up and dry-fitting them before gluing. Glue the photo-etched parts with CA glue (cyanoacrylate) and join the plastic with a thin modeling cement. The natural metal surface of the aircraft is best rendered with a metallic paint over a smooth base; use a gloss varnish before applying the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
