A motorcycle kit of this large touring cruiser in 1:9 scale from Meng in the Pre-colored Edition version. The parts come finished in color, so the model captures the look of the subject faithfully without conventional spraying. The glue-free design makes assembly easy. This is an officially licensed BMW product.
The BMW R 18 Classic is a massive cruiser that picks up the brand's classic shapes, among them the teardrop tank, elegant exhausts, a double steel tube frame and an exposed driveshaft. It is powered by a two-cylinder boxer engine of 1802 cc. The Classic version adds a windshield and side cases for a touring character.
The parts are pre-colored, so concentrate on precise assembly and on cleaning up the gates. The chrome surfaces will stand out after polishing, and the leather and matte parts can be brought out with light dry-brushing. Anyone who wants to go further can even out the surface with clear coat and add shadows in the recesses; the basic look, however, is finished straight out of the box.
The model is supplied unassembled, with the parts pre-colored. Glue and paints are not needed for the basic look and are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
