89 Beige - RAL 1019

Revell 89 Beige, RAL 1019 (Aqua Color, 18 ml)

A modeling paint in the shade 89 Beige to the RAL 1019 standard. This is a paint; it is neither a kit nor a model. By its classification in the acrylic category this is the Aqua Color line, that is an acrylic, water-thinnable paint in a pot of 18 ml. It is thinned with water or with Aqua Color Mix thinner, it does without aggressive organic solvents and the tools are washed with water after the work. The surface of shade 89 is matte.

Do not confuse the series

Revell runs two color lines with the same shade numbers. Alongside the acrylic Aqua Color there is also the Email Color enamel line (synthetic enamel, 14 ml, Revell Color Mix thinner). The shade 89 Beige, RAL 1019, therefore exists in both lines. This paint is acrylic (Aqua), not enamel: the two chemistries are thinned differently and do not mix.

Use

• Beige is the basis of desert camouflage on military equipment and also suits canvas tarpaulins and camouflage nets.
• A frequent choice for interiors and equipment: pouches, straps, packs, crew kit.
• It is used as a base under flesh tones on figures, over which warmer tones are then glazed.
• On dioramas it serves as the tone of sand, dry soil and dusty roads.
• It is thinned with water or Aqua Color Mix (at most about 20 to 25 percent); rather apply it in two thin coats, as light shades cover less well.
