About product

Atlantic Blue - Vallejo

Atlantic Blue is a water-thinnable acrylic gel in a 200 ml package in a rich blue color reminiscent of the Atlantic Ocean. It serves to imitate the surface of seas and oceans in dioramas. Because it is translucent, it is recommended to apply it onto a base painted darker beforehand, which emphasizes the impression of depth. It is neither an opaque paint nor a kit, but a modeling medium.

Use

  • creating the surface of seas and oceans in dioramas and vignettes
  • modeling waves and ripples with a rich blue tone
  • it is applied with a brush or a spatula straight onto the scene

Work tips

Paint the base in a darker blue or green and seal it. Apply the gel in thinner layers; you emphasize the depth with a darker bottom and a transition to lighter wave crests. White crests can be added with a separate paste once it has dried. Clean the tools with water before it dries.

Who it is for

For builders of naval dioramas and ship scenes who want a realistic water surface without casting resins.

A water-thinnable product. Keep out of the reach of children, work in a ventilated room and clean the tools with water before it dries.

FAQ

No, it is a translucent acrylic medium - a gel for creating water with a rich blue tone. It has no full covering power.

The gel is translucent. A darker base shows through and creates the impression of the depth of the sea; on a light base the effect is lost.

Add the white crests with a separate paste or white paint once the gel has dried.
