Basic Tool Kit

A basic set of modeling tools

Starting out with models runs up against almost the same thing every time: the tools are bought one at a time and you do not know in advance which ones you really need. The set simplifies this step by bringing the basic equipment together in one package. Typically it includes tools for separating parts from the sprue, cleaning up mold seams, handling small components and sanding, that is the jobs with which every build begins, no matter what model you are building.

Use

• Separate the parts from the sprue with a margin and clean the remainder up; never break them off by hand.
• Sand the mold seam down before you glue the part, afterwards you will not get at it.
• Carry small components with tweezers over a mat; from the table they are lost at once.
• Wipe the tools after work; dried glue and paint shorten their life.
• Store sharp tools so that the tip does not knock against anything; a blunted tip spoils the work instead.
• Work over a mat, small parts are lost from the tabletop at once.

Who it is for

The set suits beginners who are buying their first equipment, and it serves as a supplement for anyone who needs a second set for traveling or for club work. It will also be appreciated by anyone who is giving a model as a present and wants the recipient to be able to start building straight away.

The set contains sharp tools and is not intended for small children. Keep it out of their reach. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
