A Gunze paint from the SVC line in a black metallic shade. The SVC line is intended for parts in softened PVC, that is for a material on which ordinary modeling paints hold considerably less well than on hard plastic.
Softened PVC is flexible thanks to plasticizers, and those gradually come out to the surface. The finish then lifts or stays tacky, and that even after a longer time, when everything had seemed to be in order. A paint developed for this material reckons with it. The black metallic shade suits areas that are to read as metal and at the same time dark: barrels, breeches, holsters, belts, small fittings and other elements where a purely matte black would look flat.
Wash the surface of the softened PVC first in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry thoroughly; grease from the material is the main cause of poor adhesion. Shake the paint honestly before use, as the metallic pigment settles at the bottom. Apply thin coats and let them dry between them; with metallic shades an uneven heavy coat shows up as streaks. Before you take on the whole part, try the paint in a hidden place. With flexible parts reckon on repeated bending stressing the finish, so handle them calmly once they have dried.
This is the paint alone. The model, the figure, the thinner and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
