An engraved line almost disappears on a finished model once it is painted: the paint partly fills it and the surface evens out to the eye. A product for accenting lines flows into the engraving and gives the surface its subdivision back, so panels, hatch seams and pressings become legible again. A brown shade works more softly than a black one and suits everywhere the shadow is meant to be warm and dirty: on machinery, on wood, on surfaces with rust and dust. On models that are light to the eye it tends to be more suitable than the deep black version, which looks hard on them.
The best surface is smooth and glossy, over which the product flows into the line by itself and does not bleed into the surface. On a matte coat it catches even where it should not. Apply it therefore onto a unified glossy surface, let it wick along the line and wipe the excess away before it dries completely; always wipe it in one direction, best of all in the direction of the airflow or from top to bottom, so that it leaves a natural hint of running behind. Remove the remainder on the surface with a cloth or a cotton swab slightly dampened with the product intended for this line according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
Once you are happy with the result, unify the model with a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the surface you want. The varnish will at the same time fix the line, so that it does not smear during further handling.
The model, brushes, thinner and varnishes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
