Vallejo Chipping Medium 17 ml

This is an auxiliary modeling product, not a paint. It is a water-thinnable acrylic medium that serves as an intermediate layer between the lower and the top color. Once the top shade has dried, you simply wet the area with water and the medium softens, so that pieces of the top coat can be scraped away with a brush, a stick or a toothpick to reveal the color beneath. This creates a naturally looking chipped and scuffed surface. The package is a 17 ml bottle with a dropper.

Use

• Apply a thin, even layer onto the dried lower color (base, primer or rust).
• Once the medium has dried, spray or brush the top covering shade over it.
• Wet the area where you want the chips with water and let it act for a while.
• Break the top layer up with a bristle brush, a stick or a toothpick and create the scuffed places.

Who it is for

Suitable for modelers who want to master the weathering of wear on vehicles, aircraft, equipment and figures. The best results come with an airbrush, but it also works when brushing.
