The model of the RD-33 engine is a 3D-printed resin accessory from Temp Models. A separate engine for a hangar scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin model of the whole RD-33 engine from the Russian brand Temp Models. It is not a replacement nozzle for a model but the engine as a separate object: it suits a hangar scene, a cart beside a stripped aircraft or a model with the engine nacelle opened up. Printing in resin manages the piping, the units and the external lines. The figure of the scale in the name does not match the rest of this product series.
The RD-33 is a turbofan engine with an afterburner that powers the MiG-29 and the machines derived from it. The aircraft carries two such engines placed well apart and during maintenance they are drawn out of the tail end to the rear. In photographs from a hangar the engine therefore tends to be seen standing on its own cart beside the aircraft, which is a rewarding scene for a modeler: it shows the dimensions of a unit that is otherwise hidden in the fuselage.
Release the parts from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating faces. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The casing of the engine has a metallic tone, the piping and the wiring other shades, so paint it in layers. Finally bring the recesses out with a dark tone and add oil stains and heat marks on the rear part.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
