Essential Set 1 from the Italian brand Lifecolor is a starter set of water-thinnable acrylic paints with the part number ES01. The manufacturer supplies it as six bottles of 22 ml and makes it up from the basic matte shades: white, black, the primary colors and a matte clear varnish. It is not a kit, but paints for finishing a completed model.
The primary colors together with white and black allow a large part of the other tones to be mixed, so a single set covers the first models as well as later mixing of your own shades. White and black also serve to lighten and darken, that is for modulating color on large surfaces. The matte clear varnish in the set unifies the finish and seals the decals, so that no glossy carrier is left on the surface.
For beginning modelers who are building up a stock of paint, and for more experienced builders who mix their own tones and need to top up the basics.
The paints are supplied in the stated volume. Thinner and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Work in a ventilated room and keep the paints out of the reach of children.
