Eye Gone Wild 1:20 from Moebius Models, an injection-molded plastic kit of a fantasy show rod designed by the Kustom Kulture artist Von Franco, with a winged eyeball as the driver.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:20 scale presents a bizarre custom hot rod from the American manufacturer Moebius Models. It is not a real car but a fantasy show rod designed by the Kustom Kulture artist Von Franco, with a giant winged eyeball enthroned in the seat. The package contains parts of hard plastic (styrene), chrome-plated accessories, rubber tires, steel axles and decals.
The subject is an original cartoon drawing, not a particular automobile. It follows on from the tradition of American monster hot rods and show rods of the 1950s and 1960s, made famous above all by Ed Roth, known as Big Daddy. Von Franco carries on that style: the cars are exaggerated, grotesque and full of humor, meant for show rather than for driving.
Glue the plastic with liquid cement for plastic, and degrease the chrome-plated parts and glue them with cyanoacrylate. The effect comes out best with saturated gloss colors and a quality finish; a primer and an airbrush help to achieve a smooth surface. The eyeball is a rewarding element for color transitions and shine.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
