Paints for figures

Game Color is a water-based acrylic range developed for painting figures. The pigment in it is finely ground, so the paint stays smooth even in a thin coat and does not clog the small relief of a figure, such as the features of a face, the links of a chain or the stitching of leather. It covers to a matte finish, which suits a figure better than gloss: a matte surface does not break up the shape with reflections and the transitions by which light and shade are modeled on a figure stand out far better on it.

The starter set

The starter set of the Game Color range is the entry package for anyone taking up figure painting or only beginning to put together a basic palette. Paints from one range mix with each other without trouble, they have comparable gloss and opacity, and coat on coat holds reliably, so you can go straight to trying shading and lightening the edges.

How to work with the paints

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use; the pigment settles on standing.
• Thin the paint with water or with a thinner of the same range and lay it down in several thin coats rather than one heavy one.
• Give the figure a primer first; on a bare smooth surface acrylic rubs off.
• Rinse the brush as you go and straight after the work; dried acrylic never comes out of the hair again.
• Seal the finished figure with a varnish, matte or satin according to the surface you want.
