A paint set matched to the model of the ship Darold of the Gelvads class. The shades for one particular subject together in a single package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The paint set is put together for a single subject: the ship Darold, that is a vessel of the Gelvads class of the Garmillas fleet. Instead of assembling shades from the general range you get paints that belong together and were chosen with regard to how they look next to each other on a finished model. The number of bottles, the volume of the package and the paint system, that is what it is thinned with and what the tools are washed in, are given by the manufacturer.
With subjects that are unusual in color the hardest thing is to decide how each shade should look next to its neighbor. The hull, the surfaces of the superstructures and the auxiliary elements have to differ from each other by just the right amount: too little and the model merges into one uniform mass, too much and it falls apart into blotches. A set put together beforehand saves this work, and the shades can be mixed with each other as well, because they come from a single line.
Shake the bottle properly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands. Apply the paint in thin coats and let each one flash off; one heavy coat floods the surface detail and dries unevenly. For spraying, thin the paint according to the system it belongs to, and start rather with a thinner mix. Under light shades a primer pays off, otherwise the color of the plastic shows through. The shades can be mixed with each other and so used to fine-tune the transitions or a lighter tone on the edges. Finally unify the finished model with a clear coat, depending on whether it is to be matte or glossy.
For modelers who are building this very subject and do not want to hunt for the shades one at a time. The model, thinner, clear coat and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
