Three matched shades in the Domelaze III Color Set: gray for the hull, white for the superstructures and blue for another vessel of the fleet.
Responsibility details are not available.
The three-bottle Zoellugut Class Domelaze III Color Set offers gray for the hull, white for the superstructures and turrets, and a blue that belongs to another vessel of the same fleet. Two of the bottles are larger than the third, because the gray and the blue tone cover extensive surfaces, whereas the white serves above all for the detail.
All three shades come from the lacquer line of the Japanese maker Gunze and have a semi-matte surface. The solvent is organic, so the set does not get on with water or with acrylic products. Mixing different chemistries leads to the pigment curdling and to an unusable paint. Semi-matte is a practical compromise: smooth enough for laying decals, and yet without inappropriate gloss.
It suits anyone who builds large models of spacecraft and wants the shades matched without mixing them himself. The combination of gray and blue will serve well for naval subjects too, though, where similar tones appear routinely.
Work at an open window or in an extraction booth, as the fumes of the solvent irritate the airways.
