A modeling paint from the Number 5 range in the Arctic Grey shade, a light cool gray for the bodywork of car models.
Responsibility details are not available.
Arctic Grey is a light cool gray named after the finish of the Porsche GT3 RS sports car. On a model it behaves differently from an ordinary gray: on the curved surfaces of the bodywork it breaks toward a bluish tone and sets off sharply from the black trim, wheels and aerodynamic parts, of which this car has plenty.
The bodywork is the largest continuous surface of the whole model and every unevenness under the paint shows on it, so smooth and degrease the surface first. Apply the paint in several thin coats with a short pause between them. A single heavy coat floods the fine lines of the panel joins and makes runs on the edges, which are then harder to sand back than the paint was to apply. It is thinned with the thinner intended for this range of paints; a thinner from another range can curdle the paint into grains.
Light gray shades cover less well than dark ones, so it pays to unify the ground; over mixed plastic with filled joins the paint would otherwise build up unevenly and the joins would show through. If you want a higher gloss or intend to apply decals to the model, seal the shade with a clear coat. Work in a well ventilated space and flush the airbrush out immediately after spraying.
The paint will be valued by builders of car models who want a shade matching a particular car and have no wish to mix it laboriously from several paints.
The package holds the paint alone. The model, thinner, primer and clear coat are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
