The GT92 Mr. Hull Mould Chisel is a special chisel from Gunze (Mr.Hobby) for scraping a mold seam away cleanly, even on curved surfaces such as ship hulls.
Responsibility details are not available.
This chisel takes care of one of the most frequent but most neglected steps of a build. A mold seam is the thin line left on a part where the two halves of the injection mold meet. You will find it on practically every injection-molded part: on ship and aircraft hulls, on gun barrels, on wheels and on every rounded part. The GT92 is shaped specifically for scraping this seam away: the edge is drawn along the edge of the part and cuts or scrapes the seam off cleanly. The word Hull in the name is a hint that it suits long rounded hulls and surfaces in particular, where sandpaper slips and cannot reach evenly.
For modelers of ships, aircraft and vehicles who want to do the job properly, because removing mold seams is the step that separates a toy from a real model. It will be appreciated by beginners too, who may not yet know about this unobtrusive but very useful tool.
The edge is sharp, so work with a stroke away from yourself and away from your fingers. After scraping, go over the area with fine sandpaper or a sanding sponge. Keep out of the reach of children.
